The Mousetrap was the basis for the popular board game "Clue".
Agatha Christie originally wrote the play as a 30 minute radio play called "Three Blind Mice". The story was based on a case of child abuse in the papers at the time.
The Mousetrap opened in London's West End in 1952 and has been running ever since, for a total of over 23,000 performances.
